Privacy Policy

Effective: 14 October 2026

This policy explains what information Bus Peek SG uses when you use the website or mobile app. The service can be used without creating an account.

Location

If you press the location button and grant browser permission, your approximate device location is used to sort nearby bus stops. While Bus Peek SG is open, the browser may continue updating that location so the nearby list follows you. The most recent location is kept in local device storage for up to 15 minutes, but is not stored in a Bus Peek SG user profile. Your browser or operating system controls location permission and lets you revoke it at any time.

When Smart Catch is enabled, the app samples the approximate location of the first opening after at least two hours of inactivity. It can learn up to three frequent starting areas and store journey times observed when you later refresh near a saved bus stop. Without an account, these places and journey samples stay only on this device. If you sign in, your frequent places, walking-time samples and Smart Catch settings are also saved in your private Firebase account so they can be restored on your other devices. Live location updates and trips in progress are not synced. You can turn Smart Catch off or remove learned places from the Me page.

Favourites and device storage

Favourite bus services are stored on your device. If you sign in with Google or Apple, Bus Peek SG also syncs your saved bus stop and bus service combinations to Firebase so they can be restored on your other devices. Your advertising preference and first-use date are stored on this device. New installations are ad-free for the first 14 days; after that, advertising is enabled by default.

Account

Google and Apple sign-in are optional. When you sign in, Bus Peek SG receives account information such as your Firebase user ID, display name, email address and profile photo from Firebase Authentication. You can delete your Bus Peek SG account data, including synced Smart Catch data, from the Me tab, or review the steps at Account deletion.

Service logs

Optional usage counts, reviews and sharing

You can opt in to anonymous usage counts on the Me page. When enabled for the service, these counts include successful bus lookups, return visits, saves, sharing, store-link taps and review API requests, grouped by platform, language, app version, a general source such as SEO or a shared link, and the date optional usage counting begins. They do not contain an account ID, advertising ID, device ID, location, bus stop, search text or full referring URL. First-use dates and review limits stay on your device. Aggregate counts may be processed by Cloudflare Analytics Engine. Turn this option off on the Me page to stop sending counts. Your browser's Do Not Track setting is also respected. The operating system controls whether a review prompt appears; the app cannot see whether you left a rating. Sharing is optional and sends only the public stop or route link you choose through the system share sheet.

Hosting and infrastructure providers may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, request time, requested URL and error logs for security, reliability and abuse prevention.

Maps and transport data

Map tiles are provided by OpenStreetMap infrastructure, and bus information is sourced from LTA DataMall. Bus Peek SG uses ArriveLah for live arrivals and may fall back to its first-party LTA DataMall endpoint. Requests to these providers may include standard network and browser information under their respective privacy terms.

Advertising

New installations do not load advertising during their first 14 days. Advertising is enabled by default after that period. The website uses Google AdSense, while the Android and iOS apps use Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage, device identifiers or similar technologies to provide, measure, personalise and protect advertising. You can learn how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services at Google's partner sites policy.

Where required, a consent message will be shown before advertising technologies are used. Available privacy choices may vary according to your location.

Your choices

  • Decline or revoke browser location permission.
  • Turn off Smart Catch to stop frequent-place and journey learning.
  • Clear local favourites through your browser's site-data controls.
  • When available, review or change consent from Ad privacy choices on the Me page.
  • Use browser controls to manage cookies and advertising settings.
  • Review Google's ad controls at My Ad Center.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the app, providers or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will be revised when material changes are published.

Bus Peek SG is an independent service and is not an official LTA product.
